Cinnamon Mask For Acne (Home remedies)

I get at least 2 nodular or cystic acne before my menstruation every time... and when I had spicy and junk food for more than a day and also when I have not removed my make up before going to bed…otherwise my skin is behaving little well these days.. Touch wood... this time as usual just before few days of a grand party I had a red bump exactly on the tip of my nose and cyst on my chin...eeyokess... ..

And I woke up at 2 am and did an impulsive diy

Voila it actually worked wonders

Ingredients:

Cinnamon

Honey

Lemon

The ratio should be 2:2:1

Initially I simply mixed 2-3 pinches of cinnamon powder and added a bit of honey exactly equals to cinnamon powder to make a paste...then I added 2-3 drops of lemon juice.

I left it over night... next morning redness was almost gone...and then I repeated the application at least 3 times a day... and my bumps were reduces to half by evening…

I had home made cinnamon powder from cinnamon sticks and an organic honey.
You can simply grind cinnamon in a grinder... it will be little gritty but will be really effective.

It will tingle in the start, may burn for a while, especially if honey is not good enough and lemon is more... so do add a proper amount of honey. You can also wash it after 20 minutes and it can be used as a face mask as well... It will make skin glow. Results will be a brighter clearer skin.

Why cinnamon:

It acts as an inflammatory on the skin and increases blood circulation. It reduces acne and also helps in reducing acne scars.

Why honey: You know honey is actually my favorite ingredients when it comes to Diy...honey helps in healing inflammation on skin because it is a natural moisturizer, an anti bacterial and a humectants. Honey cleanses skin deeply

Lemon: is always good for acne scarring also act as a spot remover...it helps in reducing acne/bumps/cysts by killing bacteria.

Since it has lemon I wouldn't suggest to use it regularly .If you are using it as a spot treatment use it till the time you have acne and otherwise once or twice a week because lemon is photosensitive

Hope you like it!

Beetroot For Removing Tanning(Home Remedy)

I am again with a beauty tip…as I said since I came back from Mumbai I am tanned and curd with lemon has actually helped me to reduce tanning from my face and hands but my lips are still tanned and are appearing dark.
So I did a very easy peasy thing to reduce that...

I just simply rub a Beetroot slice on my lips 2-3 times a day and after a week I could see my lips becoming little better...
Beetroot is not only very good for health but it’s also very good for skin.
It helps in removing tanning and improves skin tone with the regular and long term use. I haven't used on my skin but my lips are looking really better .I think with regular use I can find my baby lips back with really pink color.

How To Get Rid Of Holi Colors(home remedies)

Holi without color is meaningless but these colors can put my skin in danger. With the excitement of this holi I am bit worried as well for my skin...coz I know I am going to get colored like a canvas... & that too not with natural colors... So today I am going to share some home remedies that I always tried to remove my holi colors...
I think most of us know that its always better to put some oil or lotion before stepping out of room on holi but this time I am going to put another layer on my body lotion and that is of thick sunscreen like Neutrogena sunscreen .And before taking bath I prefer to wipe color with some cleanser or oil...and then use any of these home remedy.
Coming to home remedies:
Take a bowl full of curd & add 1-2 tbsp of lemon juice & apply it on your whole body where ever there is color, this surely removes color.
Applying fuller earth pack helps to get rid of colors from your skin to a great extent.
And this one which I think most of us know but let me brush up your memory...use a basic uptan of gram flour ,turmeric & milk cream. This also helps to remove color but yeah not completely .for me the curd recipe works great.
What is your plan for holi & how are you to get rid from colors.
Keep smiling & be beautiful this holiJ

Take a cucumber & grate it & squeeze it to take out its juice & mix honey half of cucumber’s quantity in to it.My mom says i can store it for 3 hours only but i have stored it for 3 days in refrigerator.
I am using it with cotton ball & let it stay for at least 15 min only coz it's stightly sticky & then wash it with plain water.

Home Made Talcum Powder (Baby Skin Care)

Babies have very soft & delicate skin. I always want to protect my baby from everything bad in this world & everything that is harsh for her skin.I know it’s quite difficult to do this but I am trying as much as I can & I started this by using natural, home made & organic products for her skin.

Little babies are most of the time in diaper & every time I change my baby’s diaper I need to apply some talc, so I decided to use home made talc, which is fragrant as well.Coz talc is the only product used very frequently on babies & I heard a lot about harms of talc.

be beautiful with punam

Ingredients:

Baking Soda
Lemon grass essential oil

I take baking soda & add few drops of lemon grass essential oil in it .It is still in powder form even with essential oil added, so you can easily use it.

Put it in jar or old talcum bottle or baby’s puff box & dab it whenever you need. It worked well but for a short while & I had to reply it, but that’s fine with babies as I have to reapply talc every time I change her diaper , when i am dressing the baby after bath & when taking her on walk.

It didn’t work for long on underarms when my baby is perspiring a lot (coz she runs a lot) & it also leave some stains on her dark clothes. I also tried this on my under arms & it worked quite well till evening, which is not bad but not on those days when I am perspiring a lot.

Why baking soda:

It will help in keeping skin dry & itch free
Baking soda absorbs both moisture & smell.

However, I have noticed it didn’t work for long on underarms when my baby is perspiring a lot & it also leave some stains on her dark clothes. It was slightly rough for skin & due to this reason I tried one more DIY/home made talc that I will share with you all soon.

Have you tried this? Then please share your experience.
Keep smiling & be beautiful with punam:)

Magnesium Sulfate for Acne(Home remedy)

be beautiful with punam
Acne occurs when least needed. Especially in my case they always occur just a day before some party & on last eighteenth I hosted a teej party & as usual had two nodules(swollen acne) on my face & I was mad as a wet hen J(please some body tell my acne that I am no more a teenager)
And (dhan tanan) then my angel enters who solves all my problem (my hubby)
He says I will bring magnesium sulfate from our hospital’s medical store coz we use it to reduce swellings & in many medical preparations. (He runs his own hospital & an orthopedic surgeon; I wish he would have read dermatologyJ).
Though he forgets to even bother about it as soon as he reaches there but gave an amazing idea to me & then I got magnesium sulfate from my hospital’s medical store. Magnesium sulfate is easily available over the counter. You can also use Epsom salt which is another name of magnesium sulfate. But I never found Epsom salt anywhere.
Why magnesium sulfate: It has great anti inflammatory properties & healing agents. Magnesium sulfate is a chemical compound made up of oxygen, magnesium & sulfur. The substance has an extracting effect & traditionally used as bath salt to suck toxins & impurities from skin. My hubby said it will be good for reducing nodular acne & it also reduce excess oil.
be beautiful with punam

As you can see in the image its granulated , so I have to crush It to make paste & then I mixed rose water with it & apply it on the affected area, I applied it 3 times a day & my swollen nodular was reduced to half in a day & redness disappeared. Don’t ever rub it directly on your skin its abrasive. I applied it 3 times in a day coz I was impatient but I won’t suggest any body to overdo this. Use it once or twice a day for 15-20 minutes & see the magic.

Home Made Mosquito Repellent

I have a baby doll of one & a half year. She is damn naughty & rarely stays at home especially in the evening & we have a garden which is more prone place for mosquitoes. I tried mosquito repellents available in the market but they were pathetic, they never worked after 15 minutes .Then my hubby suggested me to use neem oil as a mosquito repellent. I got it from some local store which is very famous for making all kind of organic oils.

Neem oil is taken from the seeds of the neem tree. It looks dark brown in color & it smells yuck & for that I mixed few drops of lemon grass essential oil (I used fab india lemon grass essential oil) with neem oil. And the results are amazing, I apply this oil to my baby’s skin immediately before she goes in the garden & mosquitoes stay away from her completely. You can also apply it on the already affected/swollen areas; it will reduce that swelling& itching.
You have to apply this evenly on the skin & reapply it in every 2 hours. The amazing results will be in your hands.
Have you tried this? Then please share you experience.

Home Made Deep Conditioning Hair Mask (hair fall)

Dry & rough hair is a common problem for all hair type. My hair type is oily but I have experienced this problem in last few months as you know I was careless for my hair. I shampoo my hair every alternate day & after shampooing hair begin to lose moisture and prone to pollutants.

Hair, when exposed to various pollutants, chemicals, harsh winds and sun tends to become brittle & dry.  To rectify this hair should be moisturized and should be conditioned.
I created a hair mask for myself which deep conditioned my hair, as I have oily hair I used it once in a week or in 15 days.I think it will work great for dry hair if used frequently..

Deep Conditioning Hair Mask  Recipe
4 tablespoons coconut oil
2 tablespoons natural honey
Mix coconut oil and honey in a bowl & keep it in microwave for 15 seconds & Apply to hair liberally from roots to ends & massage your scalp for some while. This warm mixture will make you feel relax, wrap hair in a towel for 15 minutes. Rinse out. You will get very soft & shinny hair. Believe me I couldn’t take my hands off my hair J

How this conditioner helps in reducing hair fall:

Coconut oil helps in replenishing the natural oils of our scalp & strengthens the hair shaft. This is essential for healthy hair & it avoids excess breakage & split ends.

Honey also prevents breakage by nourishing hair deeply. I talked about honey as a good conditioner earlier as well. Actually honey is favorite ingredients for my skin & hair problem.

Importance Of Oil For Your hair

So, I have been talking about my hair fall & 5 things helped me, here is the most important part of this series & that is oiling your hair. This was always irritating for me coz I can’t stand the stickiness of oils (chip chip) but this time I changed my priority to win back my hair.
So, without wasting anytime to think & search which oil can work for me I mixed all the oils available in my shelf like olive oil, coconut oil & almond oil. I’ll share the importance & effect of these oils later.
I apply oil with the help of cotton ball on my scalp so that I won’t feel the stickiness on my hands & this even helps in applying oil properly. Oil should be properly applied on the scalp so that it can reach roots & improves our hair follicles.
I never used too much of oil on my hair as it’s not required to dip your hair in oil & optimal use of oil will require lesser shampoo( means lesser chemicals) J
Why to oil your hair:
Unfortunately most of us are using harsh chemical (sls) based shampoos which can make our hair dry , applying oil before shampoo will protect your hair from being overly cleansed and becoming "squeaky clean" .
Applying oil can reduce split ends & frizzy ends by providing nourishment to your hair & its roots.
Oiling your hair everyday would be too much to ask for. But do this at least thrice a week for beautiful hair. It does make a lot of difference if you keep doing this regularly as it is bound to show on your hair.
The massaging and oiling of your hair stimulates the blood circulation, which in return helps your hair.
Honestly I have been skipping oil from at least a year or so & I am following these entire 5 things regularly from few months only & I can a huge change in my hair & oil helped in improving my hair texture.

Hope you will not forget to apply oil after reading this post.

Keep smiling & be beautiful :)

Importance Of Brushing & Scalp Massage For Beautiful Hair

My next effort to reduce hair fall was brushing & scalp massage. As I said I never cared for my hair & the most careless thing I did is I never brushed them properly. After having a baby I am always in hurry so I just brush them from top & I never reached till scalp. Brushing your hair & scalp properly is more cleansing than any shampoo or hair cleanser.
It stimulates hormone and oil- producing glands, which keep the pores of the hair and scalp open, allowing them to breathe and retain their natural oils. Because of its cleansing effect on hair and scalp, brushing is a form of dry shampooing. So know I brush them properly.
Next thing is massage which helps in improving blood circulation & this was something we all know coz this had been emphasized by our mommies & grannies
So I started it all again, the only difference this time it’s not mommy or granny who are doing my massage, I have to do it at my own.
The best way I found to massage is let your fingers be at one place & move your scalp. With the small circular movements or back and forth motion you will be able to cover larger areas of your scalp. Starting from the front of the head and moving back to the nape of the neck. Then, from the nape of the neck, use the same motion to move forward to the front of the head. This method will make you feel relaxed as well. Remember move your skin under scalp till you feel warmness.
You should massage at least for 15-20 minutes a day.

Ginger & Onion Juice For Reducing Hair fall

Yesterday I talked about my hair fall & five things helped me to reduce hair fall. Here is the first thing that gave me results just in one week.

I started applying ginger & onion juice. Ok I know it’s little difficult to handle it’s smell but honestly it can do wonders for your hair.
When I was in my high school I had a bald patch on my scalp & I had been to dermatologist who gave few medicines & suggested me to use ginger juice on scalp. Ginger is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine and in homeopathy. Because it has anti-inflammatory and circulatory properties, it’s beneficial to improve hair quality & reduce hair fall.
And onions are rich in sulphur which makes them effective in regenerating hair follicles and stimulating hair growth & also helps in restoring hair.
How to apply: I grate both the ingredients & sieve them to get juice, then apply with a cotton ball directly on my scalp otherwise its too runny & leave it for 30 minutes. Then simply wash with shampoo.
I am using this every alternate day & honestly i am finding great change in my hair fall ,so if u expect any home remedy to show good result ,have patience & follow regularly or frequently.
Have you tried this .Then please share your experience.

How to Exfoliate Your Lips ?

In my last post I talked about how to clean your lips? But cleansing is incomplete without exfoliation. Exfoliation is important for all your body whether its face, hands, legs or lips.

Exfoliation helps in removing your dead or dry skin .Now you must be thinking to get rid of dry skin we should apply some lip guard/balm /cream /moisturizer, but let me tell you this won't work best unless we remove dead/dry skin, coz dry skin means you have dry skin cell build up, and the more we layer heavier creams, the more we are trying to re hydrate dry/dead skin, which makes no sense
Instead increase your exfoliation to remove your dry skin cells, and then moisturize the new skin cells.

Here I am sharing with you some easy peasy home remedies for exfoliating your lips.
This one most commonly used but I never tried this.
Take a soft bristle tooth brush & rub it gently in circular motions on your lips to remove dead skin. You can apply vaseline or lip balm before & after doing this.

What I do to exfoliate my lips is I mix a little sugar with honey & scrub this mixture on my lips this works wonder for my lips. As you know honey is my favorite ingredient. You can substitute honey with olive oil.

At times I also use grated beet root to scrub my lips, beet root also helps in making lips pink.

Have you Tried This ? Then Please Share Your Experience.

How to Clean Your Lips ?

Lips have more delicate skin than our face; it requires special care .I never let my face wash to reach my lips.As I want to keep my lips away from such chemicals that dry my lips. But our lips also requires the same care as our face & body.

So, how to clean lips ?

Ok we do have many makeup removers to remove lipsticks & all, but I don’t prefer to use them daily , as i dont apply lipsticks daily. Here are some homemade remedies I do to clean my lips:-

·         Apply raw milk & scrub my lips when it dries, this not only work as cleanser but also helps in exfoliating my lips.
·         Clean lips with any oil like baby oil or almond oil or olive oil, even peppermint oil is very good for lips.
·         I wipe my lips with cotton ball dipped in rose water to clean them.

Have You Tried This? Then share your experience.......

Honey For Soft & Shiny Hair

Last weekend I ended up with my conditioner & couldn’t decide which one to buy, till that time I tried something quick & easy at home to make my hair soft & shiny.
And these days honey is my favorite ingredient it may be for beauty or health.

Method:
Simply mix 2-3 table spoon full of honey with 3 -4 table spoon of water (you can vary this as per the length of your hair & may need to mix more water to make it easy to apply). Now apply this to your hair from the roots to end & leave it for at least 10-15 minutes, then rinse with your shampoo. You can easily rinse it without leaving any stickiness behind & get soft & shiny hair without any conditioner. I some where read honey helps in preventing hair loss as well, obviously with regular us.

How I wish I could show you before & after picture, coz the difference was very visible.Sorry for that :(
But honestly it works & made my hair soft, shiny & they were very manageable till the next day with a less frizzy ends.

Have you tried this then please share your experience.

Banana For Cracked Heels(Tip of the day)

My mom is a regular watcher of a TV programs & one of them is sanjeevani based on ayurvedic tips for health & fitness, once I also joined her. I don’t remember which channel telecast this program but I got some good knowledge about skin & skin care & an easy tip from this program for cracked heels:

Apply Mashed Banana on your cracked heels & leave this for 15 -20 minutes. According to them you can see the difference in 4-5 days only but my mom says it takes at least 15-20 days to see a good result.

I never tried this but I think it can work coz banana is enriched with many vitamins.
Banana contains a number of antioxidants and minerals that can help the skin restore itself naturally. It also includes potassium and minerals that help to keep the skin looking soft, supple and healthy.

Have You Tried this, then share your experience.
