Cinnamon Mask For Acne (Home remedies)

I get at least 2 nodular or cystic acne before my menstruation every time... and when I had spicy and junk food for more than a day and also when I have not removed my make up before going to bed…otherwise my skin is behaving little well these days.. Touch wood... this time as usual just before few days of a grand party I had a red bump exactly on the tip of my nose and cyst on my chin...eeyokess... ..

And I woke up at 2 am and did an impulsive diy

Voila it actually worked wonders

Ingredients:

Cinnamon

Honey

Lemon

The ratio should be 2:2:1

Initially I simply mixed 2-3 pinches of cinnamon powder and added a bit of honey exactly equals to cinnamon powder to make a paste...then I added 2-3 drops of lemon juice.

I left it over night... next morning redness was almost gone...and then I repeated the application at least 3 times a day... and my bumps were reduces to half by evening…

I had home made cinnamon powder from cinnamon sticks and an organic honey.
You can simply grind cinnamon in a grinder... it will be little gritty but will be really effective.

It will tingle in the start, may burn for a while, especially if honey is not good enough and lemon is more... so do add a proper amount of honey. You can also wash it after 20 minutes and it can be used as a face mask as well... It will make skin glow. Results will be a brighter clearer skin.

Why cinnamon:

It acts as an inflammatory on the skin and increases blood circulation. It reduces acne and also helps in reducing acne scars.

Why honey: You know honey is actually my favorite ingredients when it comes to Diy...honey helps in healing inflammation on skin because it is a natural moisturizer, an anti bacterial and a humectants. Honey cleanses skin deeply

Lemon: is always good for acne scarring also act as a spot remover...it helps in reducing acne/bumps/cysts by killing bacteria.

Since it has lemon I wouldn't suggest to use it regularly .If you are using it as a spot treatment use it till the time you have acne and otherwise once or twice a week because lemon is photosensitive

"Dove"- for me dove is always something moisturizing. Actually i like dove products but i am not a huge fan of its products . Especially the one we get in our Indian market, since i have tried few from Canada. This one is also from the few products that my hubby got from Canada..We also get one facial foaming face wash in India  with the same name , but i think its different.This a cleanser to me rather than a face wash.

Texture: Thick and creamy. It says its foaming but its not.It doesn't lather at all..When i apply this i feel i am applying a very light weight moisturizer on my face.It is thick but soft and gel cream like.

It spreads easily in to skin .. just like any cream cleanser .. but its not as creamy .. it feels to skin something like soft gel or balm cleanser.It take off all the dirt and make up very easily.

The best part is it leaves a lovely glow behind even after rinsing off face with water.

Never leaves skin dry nor oily/greasy.

I just love it for this reason , generally cream cleanser leaves a creamy greasy feeling behind but it doesn't. It does give soft skin  but not oily /greasy.

This will work for all skin type because it maintains moisture very nicely , even if i wash my face with foaming face wash after using this my skin never felt stretched or dry.

Never broke out my oily acne prone skin.

Since i am using it i can see lovely glow on my skin..

It can be used as a cleanser,make up remover or as a face wash.Though it doesn't lather but still removes all the dirt.

I couldn't see any con in it .. other than its availability for we Indians and why its called foaming cleanser  it doesn't lather..

Overall its was a great experience to use something like this. I have been missing this clear and glowing skin from long. I think my skin is really improving since i have started using some really good products like kiehls face wash and this cleanser.I wish i could find it somewhere in India or online.

Make Up Tricks For Slimmer Face

As we age our face doesn’t look as perfect as it did earlier... After pregnancy I could see few changes in my face...and I have tried few make up tricks to look better.

Here I am sharing few tricks that helped me to look prettier.

To camouflage a double chin: sweep brownish rose blush along jaw line from just below the ears to chin and blend. Highlight tip of the chin with white powder for slimmering effect…

My face is little long and oval kind... and I try to make it look little round and thinner. I have learned this trick from one of the make up artist at Lakme salon when I took a party make up there:

Sweep bronzer over temples, cheekbones and under chin using a fluffy brush. Highlight forehead, bridge of nose, cheekbones and tip of chin with light or white powder.

For making look nose little slimmer use contour powder : sweep it with sleek crease brush starting from the inner part of eyebrows , down to either sides of your nose, join the lines under the tip of nose. Now blend it well.

On my last visit to Mumbai I really had a long list of Mac products but unfortunately I ran out of time after shopping like mad at Zara and I had few minutes to browse when I reached at the floor where there are all cosmetic brands at palladium, Kiehls was closest and I ended up buying few things from there only, like - kiehl’s corrector, kiehls under eye cream and this pretty blue cleanser.

My experience:

Packaging:

It comes in a transparent bottle (my favorite packaging) with a flip flop cap. It has a strong plastic seal to prevent spillage.

Texture: It’s a blue gel. The consistency is runny. Very little quantity is required to clean whole face and neck, like about 4-5 drops are enough. In this way the bottle is going to last quite a long.

It‘s not a very foaming cleanser..In 4-5 drops it lathers a bit...I am actually used to foaming cleanser so it took me some time to adapt it and satisfy my self that my skin is cleaned. But as soon as I look in the mirror , I am all happy to see the clearer, matte and bright skin.

After cleansing my face with this in morning I could actually feel I can go out without make up. This never happened with me earlier.

When I wipe my face with toner cotton pad was clean, it means all the dirt and make up was perfectly removed...so I am satisfied.

I get pick kind acne all the time, pick acne that looks like big black head or you can call small Dane in Hindi...when I pick them they turn in to cystic ones...and every morning I do get white heads around the corner of nose and chin.

But with the regular use of this cleanser my white heads are actually disappeared completely and my heavy breakout are reduced...I don’t say it completely get rid of acne because there are so many other reasons for breakouts (external and internal)... but I can see instant reduction in the angry redness of my breakouts and gradually I have noticed a good change in my pick acne.

It controls shine in this humid weather for 3-4 hours , after 3-4 hours I had little shine on my t-zone but not as shiny or oily as compared to my last face wash(in this weather).But the best part is my skin didn’t lose its brightness even after getting this shine, it was still fair and bright. Otherwise with other face wash my skin loses its freshness and brightness as soon as it gets shiny/oily.

Every time I use it I get refreshing cooling sensation and minty or peppermint like fragrance. It controls my oil for long without making skin dry...

It’s too humid here in Bhopal because every time before rain it gets humid...and my other favorite face wash like Neutrogena and lakme are not able to do well... don’t know why...but I am happy I had this blue goddess...

Ingredients sounds really amazing...like ginger roots, cinnamon bark...

These things help in reducing acne scarring as well...and camphor is something unique, I never knew it can be used for skin.

Good:

It is affordable because the bottle is easily going to last for 2 months or more.

Overall I have liked it since I got... its going to finish I am really sad it’s not available here. It’s highly recommended for oily and acne prone skin .It may work well for dry skin beauties as it’s not drying my skin even when I have used it twice at the same time. (actually I believe in double cleansing but I ended up my cleanser and was feeling lazy so I washed my face twice (silly me) with this face wash only ..And even then my skin was not feeling stretched).
I just loved it for keeping my skin bright and clear.

As I am not the one who wears make up daily. I always wanted to use a compact that can be directly applied on sunscreen or moisturizer to get good coverage and oil control and then I discovered this great compact from Chambor that fulfilled my needs.

It’s a great compact for ladies who don’t prefer to wear foundation daily but need something for slight coverage.

I first remark on packaging. Visually it’s a feast for the eyes. The compact is small and handy. Slim and compact with the beautiful Chambor trademark rose on the cover. I like how they have standardized packaging. It’s not like brittle plastic and all. It looks like a gunmetal case...Fits the puff and mirror inside so you carry this around for the touch ups on the go.Puff is soft and application is easy and typical of any other compact.

Well I do like this powder. I use it as a finishing powder after I have put on my make up base and on daily basis I directly apply on my moisturizers and good to go.

It helps set my make up very well and makes it last longer.

Even when I apply it on my moisturizer it hides normal blemishes and my dark circles to good extent. It can be used alone over foundation.

It’s too humid here so I have also applied it on my bare face and it gives decent coverage and matte effect.

Controls my oil for 4-5 hours even in this humid weather of Bhopal. Even while travelling and in direct sun its effect lasted for 4-5 hours. After that my t zone was oily but not my whole face.

I have very oily and acne prone skin but it never broke me out.

It is oil free, non comedogenic and also has SPF.

It’s not chalky or pasty. It blends well with little effort and gives matte finish instantly.

RR2 is the shade meant for those who have fair skin with pink tone personally feel it may give whitish cast if I am not care full.

Some may feel it pricey but it’s worth it as very little quantity is required and it also contains refill pack.

So I badly wanted to try a long lasting lipstick that doesn't make my lips sticky and uncomfortable and here I got this magic stick from Revlon color stay ultimate suede…named trendsetter.

Price : 650 INR for 2.55 gms

It comes with a pretty sturdy stick with roll on mechanism which is of good quality .Cap always click lock at place and opens hassle free, so good when I am in hurry.

Revlon color stay ultimate suede is a bright raspberry pink... little close to fuchsia pink. The formula is supposed to last 16 hours, so once applied that’s you for the day.

To contradict the counter effect of long stay lipstick Revlon has added aloe and shea butter to add moisture.

When applied initially it’s really moisturizing and this is when the color is at its most vibrant. After 10-15 mins the formula starts to dry & loses its shine and vibrancy.

It has shine till it settles down, after that it becomes matte and little dry but it’s neither very sticky nor uncomfortable like other transfer resist lip colors. Isn’t it nice?

In terms of texture its creamy smooth and glides easily and softly.

In one swipe its bit sheer but color is build able. swatches here.

Coming to its most important thing for which I ran to buy it- its staying capacity which is really awesome. I applied it at 9 pm for party and came back at 2-30 am .It was there on my lips even after snacks, drinks and dinner, no touch ups …yippee

 I agree it lost its fresh finish but it dint fade. After that I slept wearing it being lazy and it’s was there on my lips till morning. It faded from the center of lips like most of the lipstick does.

Good:

• Staying capacity without fading is around 6 hours.
• Neither dry out lips nor make them sticky.
• Good shade selection for all skin tones.

Bad:

• Availability in my city was not good; I wanted to get some more shades.
• Doesn’t fulfill the claim of 16 hours..

The color is little darker and brighter than how it appears in the lip swatches.

Over all it’s a best long stay lipstick I have tried yet. Even though it’s not sticky like other transfer resist long stay lip stick but you can still feel that you are wearing a lipstick. (Those who have dry lips may use balm underneath). At this price such staying power is really satisfactory and no doubt I loved the color because it instantly brightens my face.

Milk And Dairy Products Leads To Acne(My experience)

We all get acne...now n then …I m no more teenager still at times get sudden and
heavy breakout...well so as my younger brother who is actually a teenager ..

Last month he visited to a dermatologist and one really interesting thing came out of that meeting.

Other than general recommendation of medicines and creams, his doctor recommended him to stay away from dairy products because that exaggerates breakout, especially milk.

Beetroot For Removing Tanning(Home Remedy)

I am again with a beauty tip…as I said since I came back from Mumbai I am tanned and curd with lemon has actually helped me to reduce tanning from my face and hands but my lips are still tanned and are appearing dark.

So I did a very easy peasy thing to reduce that...

I just simply rub a Beetroot slice on my lips 2-3 times a day and after a week I could see my lips becoming little better...

Beetroot is not only very good for health but it’s also very good for skin.

It helps in removing tanning and improves skin tone with the regular and long term use. I haven't used on my skin but my lips are looking really better .I think with regular use I can find my baby lips back with really pink color.

My husband visited Canada few months back and he got some cosmetics for me...
he did this without asking my needs... well still the things he got were nice.
This moisturizer combo of day and night cream by dove also belongs to that shopping...
Two of them will last for more than at least two months.

I have used them individually and as a combo as well...

My Experience:

This was my first day/night cream combo I have tried and I have to say I am happy with it.

Packaging:

Both the creams come in a sturdy cute shaped tiny tubs which are easy to use but I love tube packaging because they are more hygienic.
Maybe I am bit of a germphobe but sticking your finger in tub every time before moisturizing
does not do it for me.
I wish it could either in tube or with some tiny spatula.

Texture and consistency:

Both the creams are neither very thick nor runny at all it’s in between.
They just sink in quite quickly in to my skin. But the day cream does give a dewy finish to my
oily skin in these summers.

They just spread so very easily on face and just take few seconds to absorb.
Texture is soft and smooth like any other cream and fragrance is mild.

Moisturizing: Both the creams are great in moisturizing... they settle down quickly and it not does sit on the top of my skin like a layer of cling wrap.

Before April, day cream was doing well for my oily skin but since April the day cream is
making my t zone sweat badly but after few hours and when I applied it before my make up
it shows oil more quickly like in 1 and half hour.

 When I individually used the day cream it is just good for hydrating
Skin deeply without making it over oily except my t zone and that too in extreme summers.
And yes  it has SPF which is obviously a plus point...I am more often at home in mornings so
for me this day cream is nice because I don’t need to slather an extra layer of sunscreen.

 I liked night cream over day cream

I have realised this when I have stopped using day cream and I used night cream alone .
Night cream  gives a glow to my skin every morning... I could actually notice a sheer
brightness on my face and my t zone is comparatively less oily.

I could actually see my skin more glowing and soft .I think it does work in improving texture of skin.

So it’s a yay yay for night cream and ok okay for day cream... In combination they work same
I mean not a huge difference .but the more visible results will be of night cream.

I am not very ardent user of day cream I prefer using night creams only, I know this is not a
good habit (I am very lazy)...but this combo worked nice for my oily skin...
It kept my skin really well hydrated and I am raving about the night cream because of the glow it gives.

Overall:
I think if they worked well for my oily skin definitely they will also work nicely for dry skins and
combination skin because both the creams have good balance of moisture for which dove is
famous and it never burdened my skin or broke out my skin even in the humid whether of Mumbai.

Despite some of the gripes with day cream of making my skin bit oily and sweaty, this combo
left a good impression on me.

How To Exfoliate Around Eyes (Home Remedies)

After having milia seeds I have been looking for its solution from a long time...
as I said in my post the best way is shredding off dead skin...
but you know I have milia seeds on my eye lids & under eyes ..
These skin areas are very delicate & sensitive.

I have tried one gentle scrub but that irritated my eyes badly...
then I have tried few home remedies... that I used to exfoliate my face...
but never paid heed on my eye... now I got to know that eyes too need exfoliation.

Neutrogena is really my favorite brand it has been recommended to me by one of the beautician years
ago when it was not easily available over the counter in Indore & I used to get its fine fairness cleanser &
lotion for around 700 or 800.

Well I always loved this brand .Anyways coming to the product I am sharing today is
Neutrogena Fine Fairness Deep Whitening Mask. This is my Third sheet.
